Spring has arrived so we took a day trip to the West Coast National Park about a 90 minute drive from the city. Traveling along the West Coast, we saw lots of critters (ostrich, zebras, springbok) and after grabbing a snack at the Spar - we headed into the park in search of the spring blooms! Flowers are smart - they only "bloom" during the most directly sunny parts of the day and thus you have to be on time for an appointment with mother nature here! We spent all day and were able to see some of them opening and closing - very cool indeed. Lots of subtle beauty to be had here!
