Diversity

A variety of photos from my weekend. Weather was gray, windy and cloudy with huge swells. But lots of venturing still to be done! Some chilly, wet hiking, some diving and a baboon encounter. Not a bad 2 days!

Spent Saturday at the Cape of Good Hope. This is a shot on the way there. We also dive in this bay. A view back toward Smitswinkel Bay where all the wrecks are. Windy, stormy day! The hardy were out... that's our dive boat you can barely see in the middle! A rough day, almost glad I missed it. (:

Cape of Good Hope, the most southwesterly point in Africa. Beachline along the cape. Looking south

Another southern shot The waves were fantastic. One braver surfer was out enjoying it. A type of aloe plant with the "old" lighthouse in the background.

Looking back up the cape. Atlantic Ocean to your left; Indian to your right. Cape Point. The weather turned nasty quick so I didn't get to hike all the way down. Good thing I live here and it's only an hour from home! Soetwater point near Kommetjie and Scarborough. I could live here... gorgeous beach side communities!

Looking back the West coast of S.A. toward Scarborough. Sunday's dive was on the wreck of the Transvaal in False Bay. Not the greatest visibility. Baby Basket Stars! The BEST part of the dive. Found like 10 of them.

More baby basket stars. It's in the center top on the orange coral. Lots of colorful marine life live on this wreck. Splash of color

An overhang near the stern. Winches covered in new life. A cool section of the wreck. Pity it was too dark for better images to see the back section of this.

Shooting up near the "cage". Colors on wreck structure. Johann cruising over me

Doug comes over the top deck Alpha Male Baboon after our dive. He crawled in several cars. Including the one right next to mine! A junior male cleaning his toes.

The Alpha Male went pretty much wherever he wanted. These are Chamca Baboons and they are common around here. They do not care if a pit stop is in the middle of the road. We're trained to stop.

The adolescent baboon to the left was very cute. Cruising
