About Me I've been diving since
1997 after my roommate gave me a "try scuba" gift certificate
at 5th Dimension Dive
Center. After my first dive, I decided scuba was far more fun than
a doctoral program in Kansas and stayed in Seattle and pursued my new
passion. In my first year of diving I logged almost 250 dives! I was fortunate
to learn to dive at 5th D under the guidance of Tom Brown, my OW instructor.
5th D provided me exceptional and very special mentors, buddies, and teammates.
I was there as the store philosophy switched over to DIR diving and experienced
the "evolution" first hand. I became more directly involved
when I became a GUE Fundamentals instructor about 5 years ago, and I love
teaching this course! I especially like sharing the finesse and safety
that comes with GUE diving, I believe it enhances the entire diving experience...
in safety, comfort, ease of movement, and protection of the environment
due to greater awareness and skill level. I enjoy watching my students
go on to Cave or Tech training and increase their exposure to the underwater
worlds available to them. I was fortunate to spend almost a year employed
at Brownie's Southport
Divers in Fort Lauderdale, FL, before moving onto Cape Town, South
Africa in November of 2004 where I basically enjoyed the experience of
living abroad and pursued a year of incredible Pilates instruction and
achieved my full Instructor rating. I've now returned home after an exceptional
year in Cape Town to teach Pilates and work with friends & peers in
the dive industry here in N. Central Florida. Currently I work at Halcyon
Manufacturing, Inc. and dive out of Extreme
Exposure in High Springs, FL and am an active member of the Woodville
Karst Plain Project. |

My Photography I've been taking underwater photograph's for about 7 years now. Started with an Ikelite Aquashot and over the years, have graduated up to my current Light & Motion system. I've had my Tetra for about 2.5 or so years now. I shoot with my Nikon D70 on the surface but underwater my trusty Olympus 4040 in it's Tetra housing is a reliable partner and I look forward to capturing more underwater images to share. There
are many crevices to explore, reefs to swim, people to meet, and colors
to capture. . .
